What IS this site all about??
SnippetSqaures.com is a site dedicated to free expression and the sharing of ideas and opinions among the web community. It provides a fun, easy (and free) way for all who visit the site to express themselves. Our topics range from serious and important (e.g., currents events, such as global climate change) to light and fun (e.g., favorite lawyer jokes). We wholeheartedly encourage you to contribute YOUR ideas to our site as well as read what others, possibly with a very different backgrounds and opinions, have to say.
What is a "snippet sqaure"?
A "snippet square" refers to each small colored or white square that you'll see on most of our pages. We refer to the collection of snippet squares on a page as a "snippet board." Each snippet board has an associated theme or question that can be found just above the board. Click on a colored snippet square within the board, and in general you will read a "snippet" on that theme contributed by a site visitor just like you! Click on a white (unclaimed) snippet square within the board, and a window pops up fo you to create your own snippet in your very own snippet square! We suggest you try and see how easy it really is.
Is this site really free to use?
Yes. Completely. If you happen to be a wealthy philanthropist and would like to support Snippet Squares and the rest of our network of services, then we hope you will contact us. You can also make a voluntary contribution via PayPal whenever you register a new snippet.
Do I have to register to submit a snippet (or a comment)?
No. Not yet. But if too many people use this site inappropriately, then we may need to change this policy.
What is a "snippet square #"? What is a snippet square "position code"?
A "snippet square #" is the designation we use to identify each and every snippet square on our site. The designation consists of a somewhat cryptic 3-letter "board code," which specifies the snippet board that contains the snippet square; and a 4-digit "position code," which specifies the location of the snippet square within the snippet board. The first two digits of the position code specify how many columns from the left the snippet square is positioned, while the second two digits specify how many rows down from the top the snippet square is positioned. So, for example, a snippet square with position code "0717" is located in the 7th column from the left and the 17th column from the top of the snippet board.
